These two pictures show the same person. Its authour was Steven McCurry. The name of the picture is "Afghan Girl". It was become an icon. There was an exposition in Madrid, on COAM(Oficial College of Architecturers of Madrid).
Two more iconic pictures. Both were the covers of copies of National Geographic. The one on the left is a girl (12) in Afghanistan. It was taken in 1985. The other picture is the same girl when she was an adult woman. Her story is impressive. This woman, Sharbat Gula, has a terrible family and personal life. Luckily for her, now she is in Italy as a refugge, after having run away from the Taliban terror.
It's very impressive to see her eyes that reflect fear and astonishment when she was young and sadness, resentment, bitterness and weariness when she is and adult woman. I think that the second picture tell us how she has suffered throughout her life. Cristina

You say exhibition, Fran.
DeleteDo you like the pictures yourself?
Thanks Maria.
DeleteI usually don´t like but is true that I take selfies for my Instagram
But I meant these two pictures, not photos in general, Fran. (Look at the article)

I didn't know she was living in Italy. I'm very happy to hear that.
DeleteEven as a young girl she looked haunted. But she was extremely beautiful.
