Well, it is a difficult question because, apparently, it there isn´t clues about countries or cities. If this picture was taken in Madrid, could be Guadarrama or Navacerrada, these places are similar to the picture, such as the type of house and the trees.
It looks like a Spanish house to you? It looks like an American or Canadian home to me. But you're right, it was taken in Madrid. Next to the border with Avila. My little house is in Avila, but I can walk to Madrid (province, of course) in less than 20 minutes.
I agree with Fran, this house is typical from this mountains like El Escorial, Guadarrama, etc, and the stones they use to built it are from this places. Most of them are made of moss stone, slate, granite.....I like them a lot!
To me it looks American (or Canadian) because of the horizontal planks used for the facade. But I've just realized they're not that obvious in the picture. Also, the 'Gothic style'.

DeleteVery clever, you looked at the fence and I was looking at the facade which is made of a very American material.
DeleteI think the picture has been taken in Wales or Scotland but I cannot offer a proper reason but the landscape.

DeleteYou may be right. The horizontal planks are typically American.
DeleteThe house is gorgeous, anyway.
