Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine (Official Music Video)

How much do you know about Guns N' Roses? I know practically nothing about them because back then I was listening to... Well, I think I won't tell you. It's too embarrassing.

Incidentally, You-Know-Who has a cover of this song, but you haven't heard it from me.

  1. I don't know so much about this band, only that it was one more among many heavy
bands I used to listen in the nineties. At that time, I was a music lover and heavy, pop and techno music played an important role in my daily routine.
Regarding the music that you were listening back then, maybe it has something to do with this YouTube's link:

    1. LOL!
I don't know anything about them either, but they started singing in the mid-eighties and Dan Vasc was born in 1989.
This is what I listened to back then, but don't tell anybody: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axdtL9BJtQ4

    3. Why stupid? It could happen to anyone. And besides I enjoyed looking (not watching this time) at your choice.

  2. Watching some covers of Dan Vasc and not being enoughly fond on covers, I have to accept his talent.

    1. I think he's a great singer and he can do something very few singers can do: sing all kinds of styles from opera to rock and power metal...
He also has original music. He used to have a band called Fearless and they recorded an album. One of the guitarists is his brother.
He also sang with a Finnish or Swedish band called Orion's Reign.

  3. I know a few facts, and maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
It is an american heavy metal band started in the late 80's and in the early 90's had its boom until about 10 years later when the singer suffered a larynx cancer and they were away from the stage.
The band is widely recognized thanks to its hits such as the soundtrack of Terminator 2, November Rain or Welcome to the Jungle.
Apart from that, one of the best known components is their guitarist, Slash, who is very iconic for his top hat and hairstyle! He has also made several collaborations with other artists like Mickel Jackson or B.B. King.

  4. Thanks so much, Fatima. I didn't know any of this. Or only a tiny bit, so I won't be able to correct you.
Remember to write nationalities with a capital letter: American.

  5. Although I am not a fan of this band, I like how it sounds. It is similar to the other great band of this style in the eighties and nineties, Nirvana. This kind of rock catchs me always I have the chance of hearing it.
Grunge Rock or, it's funny, Noise Rock, as it is called too, gets my attention, maybe because of it is not a pure Heavy Metal Rock nor Mellodic Rock or, perhaps, simply, because the performances of Axl Rose makes him be a peculiar rock vocalist; how he sings, what he wears or how he moves on the stage...
Or just the sound of the battery sounds diferent to other bands. I don't know.

  6. I learn a lot from you, Jose Luis. That's one of the advantages of working in the EOI: we learn a lot from our students.
Just one thing: the word is drums (last line).

    1. It's a gorgeous song, in my opinion. When I was a teenager, I listened to very different music. I'm living my music life in reverse, I think. 😂
