Laughing at ourselves is very important when learning a language. So no fear please. If you make a mistake, people will simply realise you are a foreigner and will explain. It's the best way to learn.
Well, I would like to think that we know now enough English to avoid this kind of embarrassing misunderstandings. Nevertheless, I feel I will never know enough English to be out of danger... :-))
It doesn't matter, MJ. I'm sure the same thing could happen to you in Spanish. Your English is excellent and besides there are lots of other things you are good at.
