Hi Maria! I was looking at the previous post of this video and the questions you were asking us. This is the first time I have heard the song and I think it is very catchy! By context, I guess "be hooked on" means to be addicted to something or someone, or to be very interested in someone, to desire more and more from that person. And yes, you are right! It is easier to understand with the lyrics because there are many words that have a similar sound. See you this afternoon!
Hi MJ, you are right, at least for me, it helps me not only to understand the song, also to notice pronunciation and to remember it easier if the song catches my attention.
It helps everyone, not only you,Luz. Think of a song you like in Spanish: do you understand every word? Depending on the type of song (rock, heavy metal...) you might not.

Addicted to is perfect. In this case, of course, he's hooked on a girl.
DeleteI didn't know the song either. A lovely ex-student shared it with me.
