It seems to me a real life's learning because of the adversities and cruel events experienced by him. People who have suffered and have been able to survive in order to tell their story to us, are undoubtedly stronger. Could be good to have real hardships to be better human being? I would definitively say, "yes".

There are a couple of things that don't sound a hundred percent English so I'll write my version below: - I think he learned through real life because of the adversities... - could IT be good .... to be A better human being?
